Our Beneficiaries
·         The survivors of Political Repressions.
There are many persons in Republic of Moldova, having relatives, colleagues or friends, who are survivors of the political repression or were gravely affected by this ordeal. This category of persons did not know the happiness of living without difficulties, without losing of their close relatives, without confiscation of their property, without the possibility to study, to build a career and their future, without the possibility to create their own family, without to be persecuted by the destructive machine of the totalitarian regime... They are the “living pages” of our history, which must be carefully looked over as still they as are opened…

·         Refugees or asylum seekers in Moldova.
This group of persons is specific one: homeless, without home country, without the relatives or friends, they came to Moldova hoping that they will not be persecuted, arrested, tortured or killed for their political or religious convictions. They have no a country to call “my country”, because in Afghanistan, Armenia, Chechnya, Eritrea, Jordanian, Iraq, Sierra Leone, Syria, Somali, Sudan, Tanzania, Uzbekistan, Georgia, Turkey and parts of world, they were repressed and persecuted by the totalitarian regimes or military groups.

·         Recent victims of torture.
Form the statistical data for the first 8 months of 2006 year, the General Prosecutor’s Office had initiated 105 penal cases against police collaborators for utilization of torture, abuses or violent actions. During the 2005-year were initiated 118 penal cases from the same reasons.
But the total number of victims is still unknown, because of fear, ‘thriving’ of impunity and delaying of the cases. Only a small number of persons complain the physical or psychological torture and cases of ill-treatment.

In some of the cases, are also assisted the close relatives of torture victims from all three categories.
